Tax Accountant – Indirect Taxes

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Accurately and promptly file indirect taxes (sales, VAT, GST) and any other relevant local taxes.

• Conduct research to ensure adherence to state, local, and international tax regulations.

• Reconcile all tax-related accounts within the general ledger, including property, sales, use, corporate income, and VAT.

• Provide assistance with tax inquiries and audits from both internal and external auditors, as well as government agencies globally.

• Stay informed about changes in tax legislation, evaluate their impact on the business, and relay updates to leadership.

• Execute month-end closing activities related to taxes, which include accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.

• Contribute to global tax planning, transfer pricing evaluations, and documentation of intercompany transactions.

• Enhance and maintain internal controls associated with tax reporting and compliance.

• Work collaboratively with Finance, Sales, IT, and other departments to ensure the correct tax treatment of business transactions.

• Aid in the implementation of tax automation tools and improvements to the ERP system.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA is advantageous).

• A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, with a focus on Indirect and Global tax experience necessary.

• Proven expertise in Microsoft Excel and data analysis; familiarity with tax software is preferred.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Strong organizational abilities and problem-solving skills.

• Capability to meet deadlines and perform efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

• Ability to work independently while following established procedures and guidelines.
