Tax Accountant – Australian Public Practice

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Prepare income tax returns for individuals, trusts, corporations, partnerships, and family group structures.

• Draft annual trust distribution minutes and resolutions.

• Assist with Division 7A loan calculations, agreements, and compliance obligations.

• Create BAS, IAS, and GST workpapers.

• Aid in the preparation of FBT returns and compliance reporting.

• Support STP reconciliations, PAYG withholding, and payroll-related tax compliance.

• Generate payroll tax and land tax compliance workpapers as necessary.

• Assist with ASIC annual review requirements and the maintenance of company registers.

• Prepare tax planning workpapers and year-end planning schedules.

• Support trust distribution modeling and income allocation analysis.

• Assist with CGT calculations, cost base adjustments, and concession assessments.

• Prepare workpapers related to small business concessions and restructuring transactions.

• Identify potential tax risks and technical issues for senior accountant review.

• Assist with Division 7A, UPE, and trust compliance evaluations.

• Collaborate closely with Australian accountants, managers, and advisors to achieve client outcomes.

• Create clear, accurate, and well-documented workpapers.

• Proactively communicate regarding missing information, inquiries, and technical matters.

• Engage in workflow planning and team collaboration activities.

• Review and support work completed by junior team members as needed.

• Maintain accurate job tracking and workflow documentation.

• Operate within practice management systems and tax lodgement platforms.

• Ensure adherence to internal quality control procedures and documentation standards.

• Contribute to process enhancements and knowledge-sharing initiatives.


⛳️ Requirements

• Qualified CA ANZ or CPA Australia, or currently in the final stages of qualification.

• Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in Australian public practice accounting.

• Proven experience in preparing tax returns for a variety of entity types.

• Strong knowledge of discretionary trusts, family group structures, and SME taxation.

• Solid understanding of Division 7A, CGT, trust distributions, and small business concessions.

• Experience in preparing BAS, IAS, and financial statements for Australian entities.

• Strong grasp of Australian taxation legislation and compliance requirements.

• Exceptional attention to detail and documentation capabilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for collaboration with Australian teams.

• Ability to manage multiple client files and deadlines concurrently.
