This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Promptly respond to interpreting sessions and carry out interpretation in a professional and friendly manner.
• Accurately convey concepts and meanings in line with established interpretation protocols, ensuring no omissions or additions.
• Communicate clearly in both languages with appropriate pronunciation, enunciation, and courteous expressions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor throughout all interpreting sessions.
• Stay composed during interpreting sessions, especially when one of the primary speakers is upset or incoherent, particularly in emergencies like 911 calls.
• Ensure punctuality and availability during designated work hours.
• Adhere to client instructions in accordance with protocols to meet client expectations with the Limited English-speaking Person (LEP), refraining from interacting with the LEP without client permission.
• Possess an understanding of protocols and terminology across various industries, including but not limited to Medical, Insurance, Finance, and Law.
• Show a commitment to cultural sensitivity while working in a diverse environment.
• Proficiency in Tajik and English, with a strong understanding of the associated cultural dynamics.
• Capability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences to effectively communicate with the LEP.
• Outstanding listening, retention, and note-taking skills to ensure a high degree of accuracy during interpretations.
• Ability to focus, maintain detachment from conversations, remain neutral and objective at all times, particularly in discussions involving sensitive topics such as end-of-life conversations, pregnancy termination, vaccinations, and issues related to sexual orientation and/or gender expression.
• Preferred education or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation, or interpretation.
• Must be adaptable to any LLS technology enhancements that improve service delivery and meet client needs.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Candidates currently employed by a client of LanguageLine Solutions or an affiliated LanguageLine Solutions business may not be eligible for consideration.
• Proficiency in reading and writing the requested languages is highly preferred.
