Tactical Radio Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Act as the key subject matter expert on tactical radio systems, delivering technical guidance, maintenance support, and operational advice to government clients.

• Facilitate on-site, virtual, and telephonic training and troubleshooting sessions for DoD and government agency personnel.

• Aid in the deployment, installation, and testing of high-frequency (HF) communications infrastructure, including transit case and rack-mounted systems.

• Assist clients in creating and updating communications mission plans utilizing advanced planning tools.

• Provide procurement guidance and technical insights on communications systems, supplementary components, and supporting technologies.

• Collaborate with systems engineers on waveform testing, documentation, and deployment for new and emerging operational needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen; active Secret clearance is mandatory.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in tactical radio communications, emphasizing High Frequency (HF) systems.

• Expert-level understanding of L3Harris AN/PRC-150 and AN/PRC-160 tactical radio systems.

• Proficient in the L3Harris Communications Planning Application and associated software, including Tactical Chat and WINKDU.

• Proven experience in providing training, troubleshooting, and maintenance for tactical radio equipment.

• Experience in supporting extensive communications networks for government entities.

• Strong knowledge of radio maintenance, upgrade processes, and static installations.

• Up to 50% travel may be required.

• Familiarity with additional tactical radio systems, such as the AN/PRC-117F/G, AN/PRC-152, and UNITY public safety radios (preferred).

• Experience in supporting large-scale equipment procurement initiatives (preferred).

• Background in collaborating with joint interoperability testing programs (preferred).

• Previous support to senior-level DoD commands or agencies (preferred).
