This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
• Assist in early-stage technical engagement with customers, collaborating with Sales, Commercial, and Consulting Services teams to develop system performance concepts and solution strategies during Pre-ITO.
• Oversee the creation of system-level performance models that include Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Wind Turbines, Power Conversion & Storage, and combined-cycle performance, in conjunction with Consulting Services and Business Units.
• Manage and support technology selection and configuration trade studies to achieve a balance between performance, cost, risk, and schedule.
• Collaborate with various functions to validate plant models utilizing GT PRO and ThermoFlow, including the creation of heat balances, performance curves, and guarantees.
• Analyze operating modes pertinent to data centers, such as Baseload, Peaking, and load-following operations.
• Assist in data center proposals, focusing on N+1/N+2 redundancy, as well as islanded and grid-connected operations.
• Provide support for hyperscale and colocation data center proposals, addressing fast start and load ramp requirements, reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) expectations, grid disturbance ride-through, and operational flexibility.
• Collaborate with controls and electrical teams to define operating philosophy, protection concepts, and grid requirements.
• Identify and convey technical risks, assumptions, and margins to broader teams.
• Assist in customer technical clarifications and implement lessons learned to enhance proposal quality.
• Promote standardization, lessons learned, and continuous improvement within PCO programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Solid understanding of the performance fundamentals of Gas Turbines and Steam Turbines.
• Proven experience in Pre-ITO, proposal development, or early-phase project engineering.
• Practical expertise with GT PRO for simple-cycle and combined-cycle performance modeling.
• Capability to independently create, troubleshoot, and articulate performance models and their results.
