Systems Engineer – Virtualization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Development and optimization of virtualization environments for embedded platforms based on ARM64, Yocto, and Android.

• Defining, standardizing, and implementing scalable virtualization processes in the areas of BSP (Board Support Package) and system integration.

• Ensuring consistency between virtual and physical platforms through solution validation and functional discrepancy analysis.

• Analyzing system behavior using logs, kernel traces, device tree, and identifying and resolving inconsistencies related to hardware abstraction, stubs, or co-simulation.

• Collaborating closely with architecture, BSP, and system integration teams while providing expert technical recommendations.

• Documenting analysis results and transforming acquired knowledge into repeatable and scalable processes.

• Building a comprehensive understanding of the dependencies between the host, emulator, and target system, and creating standards based on technical conclusions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in the field of embedded system virtualization and system analysis.

• Strong knowledge of: QEMU (ARM64), Linux (preferably Ubuntu), Yocto, Android Automotive (AGL and/or AAOS).

• Experience working with: BSP (Board Support Package), Device Tree, Linux kernel, drivers, system boot processes (boot flow), integration with SoC architectures, and MMIO, DMA, and interrupt issues.

• Ability to conduct advanced diagnostics, debugging, and root cause analysis of issues.

• Practical knowledge of Linux tools: dmesg, perf, ftrace, trace-cmd.

• Familiarity with Device Tree tools: dtc, fdtdump.

• Experience with binary tools: readelf, objdump, nm, strings.

• Knowledge of build and debugging tools: Meson, Ninja, GDB.

• Experience in co-simulation, particularly with the use of shared memory and socket-based backends.

• Ability to automate processes using Linux shell scripts.

• Very good command of English, enabling smooth work in an international environment.
