Systems Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Offer assistance for the z/OS operating system, including base utilities and applications.

• Execute installation, configuration, technology upgrades, and management of the computing system.

• Deliver specialized technical support within the z/OS environment (system software).

• Assess and validate (certify) hardware and software computing resources.

• Set up and manage centralized computing resources, providing guidance and support to clients.

• Assist in development, maintenance, and production activities for systems.

• Monitor and analyze performance and resource utilization of hardware and software.

• Plan, install, deploy, and sustain z/OS base software and System Z products.

• Oversee asset capacity plans and evaluate environment performance and tuning.

• Aid in the preparation of technical specifications for IT solution procurement.

• Identify IT solutions within the System Z / z/OS ecosystem.

• Monitor availability, performance issues, bottlenecks, and drops in performance.

• Install and configure optional features and products using SMP/E on z/OS and z/OS UNIX System Services.

• Develop and maintain procedures within the client's monitoring tools.

• Automate operational processes using JCL, REXX, and native z/OS tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Processing Technology, or related fields; or a degree in any discipline with a postgraduate diploma in IT-related areas comprising a minimum of 360 hours.

• Preferred experience: 10 years in activities relevant to those outlined and in accordance with the necessary knowledge.

• Advanced understanding of computer systems architecture.

• Familiarity with processor configuration and IBM cryptographic services.

• Knowledge of TSO, ISPF panel modifications, and TSO procedures.

• Environment administration using HMC (Hardware Management Console).

• Installation, configuration, and management of LPARs.

• Customization of the z/OS system.

• Development and customization of HFS and zFS structures for z/OS UNIX System Services.

• Formulation of policies for applying PTFs to z/OS and other products.

• JES customization.

• Familiarity with tools for configuration, monitoring, management, and performance evaluation.

• Establishment of policies and standards to ensure z/OS system availability.

• Creation of routines for storing system log records and SMF data.

• Definition of WLM policy.

• Specification of machine resources in HCD and generation of IODF configuration.

• Implementation, operation, and support of IEBCOPY, DFSORT, ICKDSF, among others.

• Knowledge of APF authorizations, linklist, subsystems, HVCommon, HVShare, enabling zIIP processors, and SWA for DB2.

• Automation of alerts and actions using IBM Tivoli System Automation.

• Capacity balancing with HMC or Zetaly Automated Capacity (ZAC).

• Proficiency in z/OS, JCL, REXX, TSO, HMC, and advanced TCP/IP.

• Understanding of IT Governance principles and fundamentals.
