This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Oversee and enhance the Snowflake and Databricks environments, focusing on performance optimization, cost management, workload isolation, and scaling; also provide secondary support for Azure SQL and Azure Data Factory.
• Develop and sustain data pipelines utilizing Databricks, Snowflake Streams/Tasks, and Azure Data Factory.
• Implement security and governance measures such as RBAC, encryption, auditing, data masking, lineage tracking, and integration with Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Optimize queries and workloads using built-in tools like Snowflake Query Profile, Databricks SQL Analytics, and Azure Monitor.
• Establish and uphold disaster recovery, replication, backup, and archival strategies across various platforms.
• Work alongside data engineers, data scientists, BI teams, and architects to facilitate scalable data models, integrations, and reporting.
• Offer production support, incident response, and root-cause analysis for issues related to the data platform.
• Assess and incorporate new platform features (e.g., Snowflake Native Apps, Databricks Unity Catalog) to enhance governance and automation.
• Practical experience in Snowflake administration, including warehouse management, query optimization, clustering, caching, cost governance, Time Travel, and replication.
• Practical experience in Databricks administration, encompassing workspaces, clusters, SQL Warehouses, jobs, policies, and workload isolation.
• Familiarity with Databricks Unity Catalog, data governance, lineage, and access control mechanisms.
• Proficient in SQL and scripting languages such as Python and/or PowerShell.
• Experience with Azure data services (Data Factory, Databricks, Azure SQL), including aspects of connectivity, authentication, and monitoring.
• Strong comprehension of platform security including RBAC, encryption, auditing, data masking, and integration with Entra ID.
• Background in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies, particularly with Snowflake replication and Time Travel.
• Demonstrated production support capabilities with a knack for resolving intricate, cross-platform incidents.
• Awareness of CI/CD and DevOps methodologies for deploying data platforms.
• Excellent documentation skills for creating SOPs, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and disaster recovery plans.
• Effective communicator who collaborates well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
