This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Provide support for modeling, simulation, and analysis at both mission and system levels for advanced missile and interceptor systems.
• Design and execute physics-based models.
• Create mission and engagement scenarios.
• Conduct quantitative analyses to aid in requirements development, design trades, and performance verification.
• Develop and integrate performance models, algorithms, and simulations for missiles, interceptors, sensors, threats, and command-and-control systems.
• Carry out operations analysis and mission effectiveness evaluations.
• Evaluate architecture alternatives for delivering effects or capabilities within comprehensive campaigns.
• Perform end-to-end engagement and campaign-level assessments.
• Implement algorithms and analysis scripts using MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or similar tools.
• Create operationally relevant scenarios addressing representative air and missile threats.
• Execute trade studies, sensitivity analyses, and experimental designs.
• Quantify performance, robustness, and mission utility.
• Document assumptions, methodologies, and outcomes in technical reports.
• Present findings to project teams and technical reviewers.
• Collaborate with systems, GNC, seeker/sensor, software, mission, and integration and test engineering disciplines.
• Mentor and train team members.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• An active U.S. Government Secret security clearance is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 12 years of relevant experience in modeling and simulation or operations analysis; or a Master’s degree with 10 years; or a Ph.D. with 8 years.
• Proven experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis for defense systems, ideally related to missiles, interceptors, or similar weapon/mission systems.
• Hands-on experience with operations analysis and/or virtual simulation tools such as AFSIM, NGTS, Brawler, STK, and MATLAB/Simulink.
• A strong foundation in probability, statistics, and experimental design as applied to weapon system and mission performance.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or similar programming languages for algorithm development, model integration, scripting, and data analysis.
• Experience in modeling operational environments and conducting mission effectiveness trade studies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex analytical results to program and customer leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to independently drive tasks to completion while also contributing to collaborative teams.
• Strong mentoring and training capabilities.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret and/or Special Access Program (SAP) access; active TS/SAP clearance is highly preferred.
• Experience in missile/interceptor guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) is preferred.
• Familiarity with RF or EO/IR seeker/sensor modeling is preferred.
• Background in integrated air defense systems (IADS) or threat modeling is preferred.
• Experience with modeling electronic attack, electronic protection, and countermeasures is preferred.
• Background in survivability, lethality, and vulnerability analysis at the weapon or mission level is preferred.
• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and digital engineering practices, such as Cameo/SysML, is preferred.
• Experience with real-time simulation and man-in-the-loop or hardware-in-the-loop testing environments is preferred.
• Experience working within an Agile development workflow using Jira and Bitbucket/Git is preferred.
