Systems Engineer, Information Technology

📋 Description

• Reporting to the Vice President of Infrastructure & Information Security, the Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and maintenance of a secure infrastructure.

• The Systems Engineer will oversee and ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the Credit Union’s computer systems and networking equipment to support corporate productivity.

• Responsible for maintaining the security and availability of systems that serve the members.

• Assesses new technologies that can enhance efficiency, productivity, or help meet compliance standards for the organization.

• As a subject matter expert, the Systems Engineer will offer in-depth technical guidance and mentorship to the IT team, fostering their knowledge and expertise in infrastructure technology and troubleshooting.

• Oversees the daily performance and security of the Microsoft environment, including Active Directory management, Domain Controllers, Distributed File Systems, Group Policy Administration, and Web Services.

• Diagnoses and resolves technical problems.

• Plans and designs for the expansion or enhancement of the network infrastructure.

• Manages email systems, assisting with planning, testing, tuning, configuring, and setting up email architecture.

• Develops maintenance schedules and reports on system performance.

• Manages both physical and virtual server environments by configuring, installing, and maintaining virtualization hardware and software systems.

• Conducts vulnerability assessments, patch management, and user permissions administration.

• Ensures the maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the IT field.

• 5 years of experience as a VMWare Server virtualization Administrator.

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, as well as network and network security.

• Extensive familiarity with Windows operating systems and environments.

• Exceptional interpersonal abilities, particularly in listening and questioning.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities.

• 7 to 10+ years of experience in Windows Server and Exchange management (preferred).

• 3+ years of experience in managing public and private cloud environments (preferred).

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Powershell scripting (preferred).

• Microsoft MCSE, CCNA, Storage Certifications, or VCP (preferred).
