Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect – App Packaging Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, test, and implement enterprise applications across Windows, iOS, and Android as part of the UEM → Intune modernization initiative.

• Conduct comprehensive application inventory, analysis, packaging, and validation utilizing MSIX, Win32, Intune wrapping, and mobile app formats.

• Ensure applications adhere to security protocols and are compatible with modern management tools.

• Prepare applications for large-scale deployment through Intune and Mobile Application Management (MAM) configurations.

• Address packaging challenges and collaborate with application owners.

• Maintain a comprehensive application catalog.

• Assist in migration waves to ensure a secure, stable, and predictable application deployment experience.

• Configure app assignment strategies, version control, rollout rings, deployment monitoring, MAM policies, app protection policies, conditional launch requirements, data protection settings, and user exception handling.

• Perform functional, compatibility, and performance testing across Windows, iOS, and Android platforms.

• Validate applications within MDM and MAM enrollment scenarios.

• Analyze logs and generate root cause analyses.

• Collaborate with security, platform engineering, and application stakeholders.

• Create packaging documents, change records, deployment plans, and rollback procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in a related field.

• Strong knowledge of MSIX packaging, MSIX modification packages, signing, and conversion processes.

• Proficient in Win32/IntuneWin packaging, detection and enforcement rules, dependency modeling, and remediation scripting.

• Experience with iOS application deployment, including IPA and VPP/ABM integration.

• Experience with Android application deployment, including APK/AAB and Managed Google Play.

• Familiarity with application behavior under MAM policies.

• Expertise in Intune app wrapping, ingestion of LOB applications, app assignment strategies, version control, rollout rings, and deployment monitoring.

• Capability to configure MAM policies, app protection policies, conditional launch requirements, data protection settings, and user exception handling.

• Experience in compiling complete app inventories, analyzing dependencies, identifying repackaging needs, and constructing a migration readiness matrix.

• Proficient in executing functional, compatibility, and performance testing across Windows, iOS, and Android.

• Ability to validate applications in MDM and MAM enrollment scenarios.

• Hands-on experience troubleshooting installation failures, certificate/signing issues, dependency gaps, and Intune deployment complications.

• Skilled in reviewing Intune Management Extension, Event Viewer, and mobile logs to produce root cause analyses.

• Ability to collaborate closely with security, platform engineering, and application owners.

• Experience in supporting large-scale MDM/MAM initiatives.

• Knowledge of Defender for Endpoint app-based mitigations, ASR rules, and application hardening strategies.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for application packaging, signing automation, and Intune configuration as code.

• Experience with certificate-based signing, timestamping authorities, and enterprise PKI.

• Proficient in analytics/reporting using Log Analytics/KQL.

• Understanding of Zero Trust principles regarding application behavior, data leakage controls, and policy enforcement.

• Preferred: previous experience with Blackberry UEM app lifecycle and federation patterns.
