This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Provide support for the technical planning and implementation of assigned defense and aerospace engineering initiatives.
• Aid in the creation and upkeep of integrated master schedules, including inchstone plans and work packages, in collaboration with program and engineering teams.
• Engage in and assist cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
• Organize fundamental engineering contributions across various disciplines (mechanical, electrical, systems, software).
• Help identify and monitor program risks and opportunities.
• Contribute to the formulation of engineering project plans and integration activities.
• Assist in crafting and maintaining statements of work (SOWs) and support subcontract management.
• Support trade studies, hardware procurement planning, and make/buy analyses.
• Aid in the preparation and participation for design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and customer meetings.
• Draft and review engineering documentation such as test plans, ECNs, and interface documentation.
• Ensure compliance with program deliverables, CDRLs, and contract requirements under supervision.
• Must possess or be capable of obtaining and maintaining an active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Demonstrated ability to support engineering projects throughout the entire lifecycle—from requirements definition to verification and delivery.
• Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills, along with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
• Strong technical foundation and proven engineering judgment.
• Self-driven with meticulous attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Effective in engaging with customers, communicating, and coordinating basic stakeholder interactions.
• 4-7 years of experience in project engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in the aerospace or defense sector, ideally supporting DoD or MDA programs.
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and basic project scheduling tools (IMP/IMS).
• Familiarity with Control Account Management or similar cost/schedule accountability roles.
• Proficient in employing systems engineering methodologies and processes within the DoD acquisition framework (e.g., DoD product development lifecycle, DoD 5000).
• Prior experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and interacting with government or prime contractors is advantageous.
• Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related STEM discipline from an accredited college/university.
• A Master's degree in systems engineering or a related field is preferred and may substitute for one year of experience from an accredited college/university.
