This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create enterprise integration strategies, reference architectures, and technical roadmaps that facilitate Health IT modernization efforts.
• Develop and maintain enterprise architecture artifacts, such as logical architectures, interface inventories, system dependency models, and integration documentation.
• Establish enterprise integration patterns, architectural standards, and engineering methodologies that ensure uniformity across modernization projects.
• Analyze current and future-state architectures to support enterprise transformation.
• Evaluate proposed technical solutions for interoperability, scalability, maintainability, operational readiness, and compliance with enterprise architecture principles.
• Assess emerging technologies and recommend architectural strategies that enhance enterprise healthcare operations.
• Plan and coordinate enterprise systems integration activities across various modernization initiatives.
• Examine technical dependencies between applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity services, identity management, interfaces, cloud services, and external systems.
• Review engineering artifacts, technical requirements, solution designs, interface specifications, and vendor documentation to evaluate technical adequacy, interoperability, implementation readiness, and risk.
• Identify integration challenges, architectural limitations, and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Assist in resolving complex cross-system integration issues.
• Develop and maintain enterprise interface standards, integration guidance, and technical documentation to support standards-based interoperability.
• Support healthcare interoperability initiatives using technologies like HL7, FHIR, REST APIs, Direct Secure Messaging, Health Information Exchange (HIE), and Identity and Access Management services.
• Engage in engineering lifecycle reviews, including Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), Operational Readiness Reviews (ORR), Configuration Reviews, and Release Readiness Reviews.
• Aid in engineering verification, validation, deployment readiness, operational assessments, and continuous engineering improvement efforts.
• Support enterprise architecture governance, engineering review boards, technical working groups, and configuration management activities.
• Create engineering standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), templates, technical guidance, and engineering best practices.
• Evaluate proposed engineering changes and their technical impacts on integrated systems.
• Present engineering analyses and technical recommendations to engineering and program leadership.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, governance, and enterprise architecture practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or a related technical field, along with 10–12 years of progressively responsible experience.
• OR a Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or a related technical discipline with 8–10 years of pertinent experience.
• Demonstrated experience as an Enterprise Integration Architect, Systems Engineer, Solution Architect, or in a similar technical leadership position supporting large-scale healthcare or federal technology modernization efforts.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, enterprise architecture methodologies, and integration best practices.
• Experience in developing enterprise architecture models and technical artifacts using enterprise architecture modeling tools.
• Proven expertise in designing enterprise systems integration and interoperability solutions.
• Experience in developing and reviewing architecture documentation, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), technical specifications, and engineering artifacts.
• Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7, FHIR, REST APIs, and Health Information Exchange (HIE).
• Experience working with Oracle Health, Cerner, or similar enterprise healthcare platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud-based architectures, identity management, and enterprise integration technologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and systems-thinking skills, with the capability to identify technical dependencies, risks, and integration impacts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in facilitating technical discussions and building consensus among multidisciplinary engineering teams.
