This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Engage in the verification process to ensure that Operating Systems and Networks meet specification compliance, with a focus on installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Network Operating Systems, particularly for time-sensitive redundant paths and devices.
• Analyze network configurations and exhibit proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Network Operating Systems, emphasizing time-critical redundant paths and devices.
• Collaborate with the Tactical Operating Environment to support Weapon System certification, testing in both laboratory and at-sea conditions, deployment of software, and fleet assistance.
• A Bachelor's degree along with a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a System Engineer, possessing technical or operational expertise in the relevant field. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Proficient in installing, configuring, updating, and troubleshooting Operating Systems, with experience in Linux/Unix development and the ability to interpret Linux/Unix scripts at an advanced level of command line functionality and principles.
• Familiarity with software- and hardware-based RAID, as well as the protocols that support RAID.
• Experience in developing and reviewing technical documentation.
• Must be willing to travel up to 35% of the time.
• An active Secret clearance is required.
• Significant technical or engineering experience with Major DOD Weapon Systems.
• Knowledge of Electronic Technician principles applicable to industrial applications and devices, including point-to-point communication protocols.
• Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Perl, or others, including knowledge of Regular Expressions and their applications.
• Capability to interpret USN C-Level Weapon System Specifications and subsequently develop and implement test plans based on those specifications.
• In-depth network knowledge beyond CCNA level, covering layer two network redundancy protocols such as Port Channels, HSRP, Virtual Switching Systems, and STP; familiarity with static and dynamic routing protocols, as well as the operational theory of network switches and routers. Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and analysis of TCP/IP captures is essential.
• Travel requirements include up to 35%, primarily to CONUS and OCONUS Navy Stations.
