Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Design and implement real-time automation controls and information solutions.

• Engage in conceptualization during the project's design phase.

• Program, troubleshoot, and validate systems.

• Generate project engineering notes, proposals, design traceability documentation, case studies, and various other documentation.

• Commission new solutions at client locations and identify opportunities for enhancement.

• Develop methodologies and address complex challenges.

• Acquire knowledge of new technologies.

• Provide mentorship to colleagues in areas of expertise and knowledge.

• Create real-time automation solutions spanning from the manufacturing plant floor to the enterprise level.

• Utilize programming, configuration, and design tools for PLC/PAC programming, HMI/operator interface design, SCADA design, network architecture, database design, and vision system design.

⛳️ Requirements

• Successful or anticipated completion of a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering Technology degree.

• A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience with some or all of the specified technologies.

• Experience in the food and beverage and life sciences sectors is preferred.

• Familiarity with DeviceNet, ControlNet, DH+, Remote IO, and Modbus is preferred but not mandatory.

• Proficiency in Python, Historian (PI System), and databases is advantageous.

• Detail-oriented, analytical, focused, self-motivated individual who is a quick learner.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Valid Driver’s License required.

• Full-time access to a personal vehicle is necessary.

• Willingness to travel up to 30-50% within the USA.
