Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Implement and configure Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, including user administration, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and security policies, within the scope of projects.

• Deploy backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity solutions as integral components of project implementations.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, and virtualization platforms such as VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V, and Scale Computing during project execution.

• Execute system upgrades and configuration modifications as part of project deployments.

• Collaborate with fellow engineers to offer mentorship, share knowledge, and provide escalation support throughout project execution.

• Lead or engage in client onboarding, network and systems refreshes, migrations, deployments, replacements, and assessment projects.

• Document technical configurations, deployment procedures, and client environment specifics in the PSA to facilitate handoff to Service Delivery and ensure ongoing operational support.

• Accurately track and log time against project tickets in PSA to aid in project financial tracking and reporting.

• Identify and escalate technical risks, issues, and obstacles as they arise during project execution.

• Provide on-site support when necessary and remain available for scheduled project cutover windows, which may occur outside of regular hours.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.

• 5–7 years of IT experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or comparable environment.

• Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP is required.

• Practical experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and networking fundamentals including firewalls, switches, VPNs, VLANs, and routing.

• Familiarity with backup solutions such as Veeam, Datto, or similar, along with security best practices encompassing EDR, MFA, and compliance frameworks.

• Experience with RMM/PSA tools like ConnectWise, Kaseya, N-able, or similar is essential.

• Strong client communication and professional presentation skills are required.
