Systems Architect – Head of Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Develop the comprehensive product architecture encompassing hardware, edge software, backend systems, AI workflows, user interfaces, and partner integrations.

• Convert founder and customer needs into precise product specifications.

• Oversee the definition of the MVP, the scope of prototypes, the pilot roadmap, and the long-term product strategy.

• Collaborate with engineering, design, business development, and external partners to ensure the product is cohesive and ready for deployment.

• Assess build-versus-partner choices across hardware, software, data, and integration layers.

• Establish safe and reliable product performance for real-world operating conditions.

• Generate clear documentation, system diagrams, product requirements, and records of technical decisions.

• Assist in preparing demos, customer interactions, and technical materials for partners and investors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in product and systems architecture in one or more of the following fields:

• Automated retail

• Vending machines

• Payments / POS / payment terminals

• Industrial IoT

• Retail automation

• Self-service kiosks

• Robotics

• Edge computing

• Hardware-plus-software platforms

• Machine telemetry or fleet systems

• Proven experience in building or architecting products deployed in real-world settings.

• Capability to work across hardware, software, cloud, data, AI, and field operations.

• Strong judgment in product and technical matters.

• Skill in creating clear specifications from ambiguous requirements.

• Excellent communication skills with founders, engineers, commercial teams, and partners.

• Fluency in English is required.

• Willingness to travel as necessary.
