Systems Administrator – Quality Assurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Design, maintain, secure, automate, and verify infrastructure across both Linux and Windows environments.

• Ensure the infrastructure is reliable, secure, performs well, and complies with standards.

• Validate the Starfish Storage product by adhering to QA best practices.

• Develop and implement infrastructure validation and testing strategies.

• Create automated test scripts for system validation and deployment pipelines.

• Verify system updates, patches, and configuration changes prior to production deployment.

• Uphold documentation, change control, and release management protocols.

• Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to enhance CI/CD reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in Linux and Windows system administration.

• Proficient in Linux server administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).

• Experience with Windows Server versions (2016/2019/2022).

• Familiarity with Active Directory and Group Policy.

• Proficient in Python and PowerShell scripting.

• Experience in managing large-scale unstructured data.

• Knowledge of implementing QA methodologies in infrastructure settings.

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, etc.).

• Strong grasp of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, routing).

• Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.

• A university degree is required; a background in STEM is preferred.

• Must be eligible to work full-time in the U.S.

• Background check is mandatory.

• Must exhibit flexibility.

• Strong interpersonal skills are essential.

• Ability to work independently with a strategic mindset while thriving in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) are preferred.

• Microsoft and Red Hat certifications are desirable.

• Experience in research environments is a plus.

• Proficiency in Bash scripting is preferred.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Detail-oriented with a quality-first approach.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills are required.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
