This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.
• Design and manage enterprise server and infrastructure environments, including Windows, Linux, and Unix servers, virtualization platforms, and storage systems.
• Develop and enhance mission-critical ISP services to ensure high availability and redundancy for a large customer base.
• Create sophisticated automation and orchestration frameworks—tools, pipelines, and processes utilizing Ansible, Terraform, and Python—to standardize deployments and eliminate manual tasks.
• Oversee vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance initiatives (FCC, PCI, SOC 2).
• Provide guidance on system hardening and risk reduction, as well as design and routinely test disaster recovery, backup, and failover protocols.
• Serve as the highest-level technical escalation point and lead significant cross-department infrastructure projects alongside senior network and engineering teams.
• Promote the adoption of new technologies, mentor junior and mid-level administrators, and generate executive-level documentation and reports.
• Over 8 years of experience in server or networking roles.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, ISP network architecture, and fundamental protocols such as routing, switching, and IP addressing.
• Proficient in managing and troubleshooting servers using shell commands and scripting.
• Extensive experience in automation and orchestration (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Python).
• A strong security-first mindset encompassing vulnerability management, intrusion detection, incident management, and compliance (FCC, PCI, SOC 2).
• Demonstrated ability to design large-scale systems and lead intricate root-cause analyses.
• Experience in leading cross-functional projects and mentoring engineers.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
• Preferably possess Senior-level certifications such as RHCE, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Cisco CCNP/CCIE, or VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
• Experience in data-center and ISP-backbone design.
