This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• You will assist the SQL Server Database Administration team with daily operational tasks.
• You will oversee SQL Server instances to guarantee database availability and perform health checks.
• You will conduct basic health assessments on SQL Server instances.
• You will monitor and respond to alerts pertaining to SQL Server.
• You will undertake basic troubleshooting for common SQL Server problems.
• You will help manage incidents and service requests via ticketing tools.
• You will execute initial issue analysis and elevate complex issues to senior staff.
• You will ensure incidents and service requests are resolved within specified SLA timelines.
• You will assist with SQL Server backup and restore operations under supervision.
• You will support routine maintenance activities.
• You will collaborate with senior DBAs during SQL Server patching and upgrade processes.
• You will assist with user access requests.
• You will maintain fundamental documentation and update runbooks for DBA operational functions.
• You will adhere to standard operating procedures, security policies, and compliance guidelines.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–1 year of experience in IT support, database support, or similar roles.
• Recent graduates with basic SQL knowledge and relevant training/certifications are encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
• Fundamental SQL skills: SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE.
• Basic awareness of:
• Databases and tables.
• Backups and restores (conceptual understanding).
• Database availability and performance (high level).
• Basic understanding of Windows Server concepts.
• Basic understanding of RDBMS concepts (tables, indexes, constraints, joins).
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and SQL/T-SQL.
• Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts and an on-call support model.
• Strong desire to learn and grow in database administration.
• Basic problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Capability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Good communication skills.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
• Nice to Have: Basic understanding of MySQL.
• Any SQL Server or database-related certification.
• Exposure to ITIL or production support concepts.
