This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Subject Matter Expert (SME) – System Requirements Management is tasked with providing technical leadership in system requirements activities that support the development of vehicle features across various engineering domains.
• Positioned upstream of product design and verification processes, the SME assesses the implications of new features, modifications to existing features, and carry-over content on current vehicle system requirements.
• This role acts as the primary authoritative source for requirements management, ensuring that any technical changes are evaluated, documented, justified, and approved prior to the initiation of product design and validation efforts.
• The SME serves as a crucial liaison among Vehicle Feature Owners, Systems Engineering, Architecture, Design Engineering, and Test & Validation teams.
• Achieving success in this position necessitates a robust understanding of systems engineering, sound technical judgment, assertiveness, adept stakeholder management abilities, and the capacity to advocate for requirement decisions that may influence program timelines, costs, and subsequent engineering activities.
• The SME will take on the role of Cluster Lead, offering operational guidance and mentorship to a small group of Requirements Engineers.
• Evaluate technical implications related to:
• - New vehicle features
• - Feature enhancements
• - Feature modifications
• - Carry-over content across vehicle programs
• Ascertain whether changes necessitate the creation, modification, or release of system requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to Requirements Engineers concerning necessary updates and reworking of requirements.
• Ensure that requirements are:
• - Complete
• - Consistent
• - Traceable
• - Verifiable
• - Aligned with intended feature functionality
• Drive the review and release decisions of requirements.
• Serve as the technical authority on the content and quality of system requirements.
• Operate upstream of design engineering and validation teams.
• Convert customer, business, regulatory, and feature needs into comprehensive system-level requirements.
• Analyze interactions between features and cross-functional dependencies.
• Identify technical gaps, assumptions, conflicts, and risks during the early stages of development.
• Assist in the development of system architecture concepts when required to guarantee the quality of requirements.
• Represent the Requirements Management organization in discussions with Stellantis and customers.
• Advocate for requirement decisions and recommendations when faced with challenges from development teams.
• Facilitate technical alignment among:
• - Vehicle Feature Owners
• - Systems Engineering
• - Architecture teams
• - Design Engineering teams
• - Test & Validation organizations
• - Program leadership
• Present and distill complex technical information for audiences ranging from technical experts to executive stakeholders.
• Drive decisions through influence and technical credibility.
• Promote systems engineering practices aligned with INCOSE standards.
• Enhance methodologies, standards, and governance processes for requirements management.
• Lead and mentor a team of Requirements Engineers.
• Manage workload planning and task scheduling.
• Conduct assessments of technical and program risks.
• Support issue resolution and facilitate cross-functional decision-making.
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Extensive experience in Systems Engineering, Requirements Engineering, Product Development, or Vehicle Systems Development.
• Experience in roles such as:
• - System Engineer
• - System Architect
• - Design Lead
• - Lead Systems Engineer
• - Requirements Lead
• Familiarity with requirements management tools including:
• - IBM DOORS / DOORS Next
• - Polarion
• - Jama
• - Codebeamer
• - Equivalent platforms
• **Preferred Qualifications**
• Experience in automotive product development.
• Knowledge of Vehicle E/E architecture.
• INCOSE certification (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP).
• Familiarity with MBSE methodologies.
• Prior experience in customer-facing technical leadership roles.
• Experience in first-level people leadership or as a team lead.
