System Engineer – Web Hosting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Conceptualize, develop, and implement innovative features that enhance our hosting platform's speed, reliability, and scalability.

• Utilize Infrastructure as Code and automation to deploy and manage infrastructure, as manual processes are not scalable, nor are shortcuts.

• Monitor and analyze system performance through key metrics: availability, latency, performance, capacity, and reliability, while comprehending the reasoning behind each metric.

• Optimize systems to remove bottlenecks, reduce complexity, and enhance reliability without increasing overhead.

• Advance monitoring and alerting strategies, striving to identify issues before they escalate into outages.

• Share expertise with fellow engineers by mentoring, reviewing work, and elevating the standards for building and maintaining dependable systems.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with Linux OS (3+ years).

• Proficiency in Ansible - you rely on automation and understand best practices.

• Programming or scripting capabilities in Python or Go (bonus if proficient in both).

• Experience in managing and optimizing web servers, databases, and caching systems.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP (or equivalents).

• Strong understanding of networking basics - DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools.

• Preferred experience with DevOps methodologies and contributions to open-source projects.

• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools beyond GitHub Actions.

• Ability to read and interpret Go and PHP code.

• Relevant certifications such as RHCSA or RHCE.
