System Engineer, DNS Knowledge, IoT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Implement and manage physical, virtual, and containerized system environments, with a focus on incorporating a new IoT resolution platform within Kubernetes.

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and document system issues.

• Regularly assess and enhance automated processes and strategies, including failover, deployment, and disaster recovery.

• Identify, document, and organize new test use cases.

• Develop and optimize scripts utilizing Ansible, Bash, Perl, and Python.

• Apply changes in testing, reference, and production systems to enhance stability and introduce new features.

• Create methods and tools for data analysis and monitoring.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive system functionality.

• Work with the German operations team to refine processes and enhance software, tools, and system performance.

• Partner with suppliers and DevOps engineers to design, integrate, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot DNS resolving platforms.

• Participate in on-call duties for about 8 weeks annually and rarely perform work outside of regular hours.


⛳️ Requirements

• Basic understanding of DNS, including PowerDNS and DoH/DoT/DoQ.

• Preferable experience in the telecommunications industry.

• Extensive experience with Kubernetes for orchestrating CNFs.

• Proficient in using and modifying Kubernetes configurations.

• Knowledge of IP networks, routers, and LAN/WAN technologies.

• Ability to troubleshoot networks using tracing tools like Wireshark.

• Practical experience with monitoring systems and data analytics, including Prometheus and Medusa.

• Strong analytical skills and a keen awareness of quality.

• Experience in both traditional and agile collaboration methods.

• Willingness to be on call for approximately 8 weeks each year.

• Curriculum Vitae must be submitted in English.
