This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Plan, implement, and set up on-premises as well as cloud-based servers, storage solutions, networking, and virtualization platforms.
• Utilize industry-standard tools and scripting to automate provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.
• Aid in capacity planning and performance optimization.
• Conduct routine system administration tasks such as operating system and application updates, backups, user and permission management, and log analysis.
• Monitor system performance and respond to alerts in accordance with established runbooks and escalation protocols.
• Keep infrastructure documentation and standard operating procedures up to date.
• Implement and uphold security measures (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, encryption) while adhering to least-privilege practices.
• Assist with vulnerability assessments, patch management, and remediation efforts to comply with regulatory standards.
• Support audit preparations.
• Create and sustain automation scripts and CI/CD pipelines to optimize deployment processes.
• Design, set up, and fine-tune monitoring and alerting systems for effective observability.
• Continuously assess new tools and enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
• Provide level-2/3 support for production incidents, participate in on-call rotations, and engage in post-incident evaluations.
• Work collaboratively with development, QA, and security teams to assist in troubleshooting and change management.
• Mentor junior engineers and engage in knowledge sharing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 3 years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, systems administration, or site reliability engineering supporting Linux and/or Windows server environments.
• Significant experience with Linux administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and familiarity with Windows Server.
• Preferred proficiency with virtualization (VMware, KVM) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Practical experience with one or more cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code or automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, load balancers, VPNs, and security best practices.
• Experience with monitoring/logging/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog) and excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Capability to write scripts in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CCNA) are advantageous but not mandatory.
