System Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance high-availability, low-latency trading backend systems, prioritizing uptime, throughput, and operational resilience.

• Collaborate with product owners to gather and analyze business needs, convert them into precise technical specifications, and oversee projects from the design phase to production deployment.

• Work closely with the management team to ensure architectural decisions are in harmony with the long-term product vision and organizational objectives.

• Lead the transformation of monolithic applications into manageable, independently deployable microservices, facilitating a seamless transition with minimal disruption.

• Establish and advocate for engineering standards, architecture review processes, and best practices across various teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in production environments utilizing Kubernetes and large-scale microservices architecture.

• Practical experience in developing trading platforms or fintech applications.

• Demonstrated expertise in breaking down monolithic systems — transitioning legacy applications to distributed architectures.

• Proficiency in real-time stream processing, including event-driven design with Kafka or similar technologies.

• Strong knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and ClickHouse, encompassing data modeling and performance optimization.

• Solid programming experience in JVM-based languages (Java, Kotlin, or Scala) within backend production systems.

• Familiarity with forex brokerage, financial trading, or a similar capital markets setting.
