This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Plan, implement, manage, and sustain server and storage infrastructure.
• Oversee Hyper-V virtualization, virtual networks, hypervisor hardware, Microsoft Remote Application, and VDI.
• Ensure OS updates and hardware firmware are maintained across both production and development servers.
• Manage telecommunications platforms, which include queue configuration, DID assignment, user provisioning/de-provisioning, and the mobile device program.
• Handle Microsoft 365 user lifecycle, licensing, and security configuration.
• Administer AWS services, including EC2 instances and VPC networking, in accordance with security and cost standards.
• Manage identity and access through Okta, including Okta Device Management.
• Administer Intune and JAMF MDM for Windows and Mac endpoint fleets.
• Maintain the IT asset lifecycle and inventory using SnipeIT.
• Oversee Veeam and ExaGrid backups with Wasabi cloud storage targets and conduct restore testing.
• Maintain and optimize Zabbix monitoring, respond to alerts, and prevent outages.
• Develop and sustain Ansible playbooks for configuration management and routine maintenance.
• Configure, monitor, and uphold patch management systems, including monthly Sunday patching.
• Safeguard information-system security through virus prevention/detection/cleaning, security procedures, and event-log and alert monitoring.
• Manage SFTP services for secure data exchange with carriers and partners, and handle protected health information under HIPAA and Vimly policies.
• Provide second-level hardware and software support and act as a Help Desk escalation point.
• Consult with and train employees and departments on technology utilization and computer applications.
• Provide documentation, project tracking, and management reporting.
• Assess, recommend, and implement modifications to meet current and future system requirements.
• Participate in the weekly IT on-call rotation and report to the Sr. Director of IT Infrastructure.
• BA/BS degree in computer engineering or a related field, or equivalent information-technology work experience accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of 3 years of equivalent information-technology work experience if substituting for the degree.
• At least 3 years of hands-on system administration experience with Windows Server, Hyper-V, Microsoft 365, enterprise backup, monitoring, and MDM platforms.
• Familiarity with AWS services, including EC2 and VPCs.
• Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal day-to-day guidance, prioritize competing requests, and drive issues to resolution.
• Experience in planning and executing complex projects.
• Working knowledge of security and compliance practices.
• Familiarity with HIPAA is strongly preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA Security+, or Okta are beneficial.
• Must be able to participate in the weekly IT on-call rotation.
• Capable of performing monthly system patching on a Sunday.
• Ability to manage protected health information in accordance with HIPAA and Vimly security policies.
