This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Collecting and archiving server log files.
• Gathering and storing critical system log files.
• Conducting regular reviews of the system firewall and issuing IP bans as necessary.
• Analyzing malicious activities and implementing security measures to reduce such incidents.
• Maintaining the CoreProtect database.
• Monitoring for intrusion attempts.
• Keeping an eye on processes that consume excessive RAM.
• Executing system upgrades.
• Installing packages as required for various tasks.
• Observing the server CLI for Java exceptions and promptly reporting them to the server owner.
• Restarting the server in case of crashes.
• Stopping/Starting the server when TPS locks the process.
• Over 2 years of experience with Linux, with no specific distro preference (CentOS is favored).
• More than 2 years of experience with Bash.
• Basic shell scripting experience (2 months or less).
• A willingness to dedicate time when necessary.
• Strong critical thinking abilities.
• Access to the main server as a personal VPN service for low to medium bandwidth applications (No pornography or explicit content allowed; server logs are frequently monitored by senior Admins).
• Use of the main server for personal storage (up to 100 megabytes for documents and pictures).
• Regular sudo-free SSH account for miscellaneous usage (learning, tunneling, experimenting, etc.).
• A generous break from work of about two days per week.
• Flexibility in the 48-hour limit, which may increase during periods when staff assistance is not required.
