Swing Dispatcher/Router

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist the Area Dispatch Supervisor in overseeing the Centralized Dispatch Center/function.

• Ensure checks and balances are in place to confirm all tasks are covered and that dispatcher shifts are adequately monitored.

• Provide coverage for dispatchers during breaks, illness, and vacation periods.

• Oversee cross-training initiatives and the training of new hires.

• Enhance operational efficiency and implement best practices.

• Address escalations utilizing established processes.

• Collaborate with dispatchers and routers to address down-route coverage issues and improve route efficiency.

• Guarantee that all same-day and next-day assignments are allocated to drivers, taking into account load type management, customer expectations, landfill requirements, and other relevant factors.

• Engage in leadership team skill development through role-playing exercises.

• Review processes and procedures with routers and dispatchers.

• Fill in for both scheduled and unscheduled absences in the dispatch center and perform dispatch roles at a proficient level.

• Act as a primary contact for ongoing training and mentor new hires throughout the onboarding process.

• Execute other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D (accredited).

• Minimum of 2 years of prior dispatching experience.

• Background in dispatching, routing, or route optimization.

• Preferred strong communication skills and computer proficiency.

• Availability to start as early as 2 AM to 6 PM EST.

• Additional or specialized training in transportation, logistics, or a related field is preferred.

• Experience in customer service within a call-center setting is preferred.

• Required to have a REAL ID or a TSA-approved alternative, or the willingness to obtain one for business air travel or access to federal properties.
