Swahili to French OPI/VRI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Have a strong understanding of the specific vocabulary relevant to the healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering content.

• Deliver exceptional customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate communication between Limited French Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete message interpretation.

• Implement established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Show a willingness to obtain new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Adhere to dress code standards for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fluent in the source language (French) and a native speaker of the target language (Swahili).

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company.

• Solid knowledge of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Exhibit strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
