SW Test Development Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Engage in enhancing product quality by developing automated tests and conducting ad hoc testing during the development cycle.

• Involve yourself in formulating software requirements and design specifications.

• Design, develop, implement, and sustain both automated and manual test scripts for Dexcom CGM software and systems.

• Create verification and validation test plans, generate test reports, and prepare traceability matrices, reviewing them with relevant stakeholders.

• Document and monitor issues within the bug tracking system.

• Examine failures and work collaboratively with development teams to uncover root causes.

• Contribute to enhancements in the release process.

• Collaborate across various departments with software development teams on testing, deployment, and reporting on product performance, quality, security, and stability.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–2 years of practical experience in software development or software test development utilizing Python or other object-oriented programming languages.

• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Experience in developing automated API tests.

• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks, including Robot Framework.

• Solid understanding of API testing, microservices, and distributed systems within cloud environments.

• Experience in automated UI testing.

• Background with cloud applications such as Google Cloud or AWS.

• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

• A minimum of five years of Agile development and test development experience is required.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across software development teams.

• Self-motivated individual capable of working with minimal supervision.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication capabilities.

• Generally requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.

• Experience in the medical device industry and familiarity with the FDA design control process is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of GCP with Airflow, Dataflow, and BigQuery is an advantage.

• Understanding of distributed event streaming platforms like Kafka is beneficial.

• Experience in performance testing is a plus.

• Familiarity with CI/CD processes, particularly using cloud-based technologies.

• Travel requirement: 15–25%.
