This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Direct business development initiatives with both potential and current brokerage clients, collaborating closely with brokers, sales, and solutions leaders to generate and expand new business opportunities.
• Act as a trusted advisor to occupier brokers and clients, guiding strategic conversations related to portfolio optimization, location strategy, and workplace transformation.
• Convert complex client challenges into straightforward, actionable, and financially sound recommendations.
• Propel revenue growth by enhancing client relationships, broadening service offerings, and facilitating high-value pursuits.
• Oversee broker-led assessments of multi-market portfolios, including studies on consolidation, expansion, and optimization across national or global portfolios.
• Establish yourself as a recognized expert in commercial real estate portfolio optimization, location strategy, site selection, and planning.
• Supervise metro-market strategy consulting to ensure consistency, rigor, and alignment with client goals across various regions.
• Create and implement innovative methodologies, frameworks, and analytical tools that set the firm’s portfolio strategy offerings apart.
• Counsel clients on corporate real estate organizational design, including portfolio governance, team structure, and operational processes to enhance efficiency and strategic impact.
• Assist clients in aligning their real estate organization with broader business objectives and portfolio aspirations.
• Spearhead business analytics, KPI development, and performance measurement initiatives to guide strategic portfolio decisions.
• Construct exemplary business cases, including scenario analysis, cost-benefit assessments, financial modeling, and market evaluations.
• Ensure that all client recommendations are quantifiable, defensible, and associated with measurable outcomes.
• Execute thorough financial, operational, and market evaluations to support decisions on portfolios, site selection, and strategic planning.
• Transform complex datasets into actionable insights for executive-level clients.
• Manage and mentor portfolio strategy consultants and/or analysts.
• Encourage cross-functional teamwork with consulting, brokerage, and other practice teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Cultivate a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation within the portfolio strategy practice.
• Exhibit resilience under stress, effectively managing job pressure while maintaining professionalism in interactions with clients and colleagues.
• Conduct yourself with honesty, integrity, and composure in all internal and external interactions.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience leading a real estate and/or management consulting practice or an equivalent multi-disciplinary team.
• 10–12+ years of experience in corporate real estate, consulting, or portfolio strategy advisory.
• A Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in economics, finance, accounting, business, real estate, or a related field is required.
• An advanced degree (MBA or MS) is preferred.
• Extensive experience in location strategy, site selection methodology, portfolio optimization, and organizational design is preferred.
• Required: Experience advising on complex real estate portfolios, including multi-location, regional, or global occupier strategies.
• Experience in portfolio optimization, metro-market strategy, site selection, organizational design, and incentives strategy is preferred.
• Proven leadership in multi-disciplinary teams focused on multi-market or national-level real estate portfolios.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau); familiarity with IWMS and CAFM systems.
• Experience with site selection methodology, financial modeling, and incentives negotiation practices.
• Training or familiarity with process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Thinking or Six Sigma, is a plus.
• Outstanding oral, written, and visual presentation skills suitable for executive-level communication.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
• Strong analytical and technical orientation, emphasizing data-driven decision-making.
• High standards for quality, structure, organization, and efficiency in work and deliverables.
• Analytical thinker capable of big-picture analysis and calculated risk-taking.
• Effective communication style with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire teams while aligning them with organizational and client objectives.
• Focus on achieving measurable client impact through portfolio optimization, financial modeling, and organizational strategy.
