This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Design, execute, and continually enhance scalable operational processes for a business model that is asset-light and platform-driven.
• Manage the operational roadmap and convert the company's strategy into quarterly and annual operating plans complete with measurable KPIs.
• Lead cross-functional teams across Operations, Customer Success, Compliance, and Vendor Management.
• Oversee the onboarding process, performance management, optimization, SLAs, compliance, and sustainability requirements for third-party haulers, recyclers, and processing partners.
• Negotiate strategic partnerships while ensuring redundancy and resilience within the partner network.
• Guarantee that dispatch, routing, and reporting technology effectively supports customer and vendor workflows at scale.
• Leverage data and analytics to enhance route efficiency, diversion rates, and cost-per-service metrics.
• Take ownership of end-to-end customer service delivery from onboarding to account management and issue resolution.
• Ensure that operations and partner activities comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Promote waste diversion, recycling, and carbon reduction initiatives.
• Lead and nurture a distributed workforce across both office and field locations.
• Travel to field locations 20–40% of the time to support site-level teams and operations.
• Manage the operational P&L and identify initiatives for efficiency, margin improvement, and cost savings.
• Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing operations leadership team.
• Represent operations in board meetings, investor updates, and significant customer engagements.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in operational leadership.
• Minimum of 3 years in a senior VP or C-suite position.
• Proven success in leading operations within an asset-light, platform, marketplace, or managed services business model.
• Experience in leading and engaging distributed teams across various geographic locations.
• Skilled in managing complex third-party partner or vendor networks with a multi-region scope.
• Strong commercial insight and operational P&L ownership experience.
• Comfortable collaborating with CFO and revenue leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and scale operational processes in a high-growth environment.
• Exceptional cross-functional leadership, communication, and executive presence.
• Preferred: background in waste management, environmental services, logistics, facilities management, or related fields.
• Preferred: knowledge of environmental compliance requirements and sustainability certifications such as ISO 14001, R2, ISRI, and NWRA.
• Preferred: experience with SaaS or technology-enabled service platforms.
• Preferred: MBA or advanced degree in Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Preferred: experience leading through M&A integration or rapid geographic expansion.
