SVP of Software Engineering – Transformation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide strategic direction for the Bank’s enterprise technology transformation initiatives, AI progress and adoption, application development, and capabilities related to emerging technologies.

• Identify, prioritize, and implement transformational opportunities through AI, automation, modern engineering practices, and strategic technology partnerships.

• Develop and promote the adoption of CI/CD, DevSecOps, automation, AI-assisted development, and cloud-native development capabilities.

• Establish common engineering standards, practices, reusable patterns, reference architectures, and technology guidelines.

• Enhance delivery velocity, quality, scalability, resiliency, security, operational efficiency, developer experience, and business agility.

• Lead the identification, prioritization, and implementation of AI and agentic AI solutions.

• Ensure AI solutions comply with governance, security, risk management, and responsible AI standards.

• Foster organizational understanding and acceptance of AI through education, enablement, and change management initiatives.

• Drive enterprise technology transformation projects from strategy formulation to execution.

• Identify opportunities for process enhancement, automation, modernization, custom software development, platform extensions, and AI-driven solutions.

• Establish transformation methodologies, prioritization frameworks, and reporting systems.

• Eliminate organizational obstacles and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.

• Simplify technology landscapes, modernize legacy systems, and decrease technical complexity.

• Act as a trusted advisor to the CTO, executive leadership, and business leaders.

• Build partnerships across business lines to ensure technology investments yield business value.

• Recruit, nurture, and lead high-performing teams.

• Represent the Bank to external technology partners, industry groups, and innovation communities.

• Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of this role.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressive technology leadership experience encompassing enterprise transformation, software engineering, digital strategy, AI adoption, and emerging technologies.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

• An advanced degree is preferred.

• Experience in delivering AI-enabled products and capabilities, cloud technologies, modern software engineering practices, automation, and enterprise technology platforms.

• Proven track record in developing and executing technology strategies and leading large-scale modernization and organizational change in complex, regulated environments, with measurable business results.

• Ability to drive timely delivery through clear prioritization, decisive leadership, rapid decision-making, barrier removal, and accountability.

• Experience in evaluating build-versus-buy decisions and leveraging strategic technology partners, platforms, and ecosystem capabilities.

• Strong executive presence accompanied by strategic thinking, communication, change leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Relevant professional certifications are preferred, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, TOGAF, SAFe, PMP, ITIL, or recognized AI/ML certifications.

• Authorization to work in the United States is required.
