This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement AOF's comprehensive credit risk management strategy across the enterprise.

• Create and uphold the credit philosophy, risk appetite, underwriting standards, and framework for portfolio management.

• Spearhead the development and refinement of credit policies, risk scoring models, underwriting guidelines, and authority for approvals.

• Provide counsel to Executive Management and the Board regarding credit risk issues.

• Assist the Credit Risk Committee and deliver portfolio performance and risk evaluations to executive leadership and the Board.

• Formulate and revise credit, underwriting, fraud, and portfolio management policies.

• Integrate predictive analytics, automated decision-making, alternative data sources, and seasoned credit judgment in the underwriting process.

• Establish governance for policy exceptions, approval authorities, and standards of credit quality.

• Supervise portfolio monitoring, concentration management, trends in delinquency, loss performance, and asset quality.

• Develop risk indicators, early warning systems, stress testing protocols, and scenario analyses.

• Propose concentration limits, diversification strategies, and risk mitigation measures.

• Create portfolio performance reports for executives, regulators, and the Board.

• Manage credit scoring models, predictive analytics, underwriting algorithms, and tools for portfolio management.

• Assess emerging technologies, alternative data providers, artificial intelligence, and machine learning solutions.

• Oversee CECL methodology, assumptions, governance, reporting, reserves, charge-offs, recoveries, and loan loss trends.

• Develop strategies for fraud prevention and supervise identity verification, application fraud prevention, deposit fraud monitoring, and controls for financial crimes.

• Collaborate with Compliance regarding BSA/AML, OFAC, CIP, KYC, Fair Lending, and consumer protection requirements.

• Lead credit-related regulatory examinations and both internal and external audits.

• Work with Operations on loan servicing, collections, delinquency management, recoveries, and credit lifecycle enhancements.

• Coordinate due diligence on sellers, servicers, loan assets, and loan participations.

• Evaluate relationships with third parties and support strategic lending partnerships.

• Recruit, mentor, coach, and nurture the Credit Risk organization.

• Set performance expectations, succession planning, and initiatives for professional development.

• Foster collaboration among Credit, Sales, Operations, Compliance, Finance, Product, and Engineering teams.


⛳️ Requirements

• A BS or BA degree in Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or another quantitative field is required.

• At least 10 years of progressive experience in commercial and consumer credit risk management.

• A minimum of 10 years in leadership roles within enterprise credit risk, underwriting, or portfolio management functions.

• Extensive experience in managing commercial lending portfolios and establishing enterprise credit policies.

• Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, commercial underwriting, portfolio management, and credit administration.

• Proven experience with CECL methodology, allowance calculations, and forecasting credit losses.

• In-depth knowledge of credit risk analytics, predictive modeling, automated underwriting systems, and portfolio monitoring.

• Familiarity with federal and state lending regulations, including Fair Lending, BSA/AML, OFAC, KYC, and related compliance mandates.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively present to executive leadership, regulators, and Boards of Directors.

• Excellent written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.

• A master's degree (MBA, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related fields) is preferred.

• Experience within a financial institution, credit union, or commercial bank is preferred.

• Background in SBA lending programs is preferred.

• Experience in implementing automated underwriting platforms and enterprise credit risk systems is preferred.

• Experience managing fraud prevention and financial crimes programs is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, SAS, or similar technologies is preferred.
