Survey Technician, Crew Chief

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Tasked with gathering data to ensure the successful completion of a project.

• Identifying boundaries, pins, improvements, utilities, etc., while conducting various project types, including ALTA, boundary, construction staking, and topographic surveys.

• Review and process raw field data, conduct calculations, and download/file survey data.

• Conduct project research as required.

• Adhere to instructions and work orders from project managers.

• Maintain daily communication with your Field Project Manager to confirm progress on your field schedule and notify them if you are ahead or behind schedule.

• Capable of safely navigating rugged terrain in remote areas.

• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wet, and muddy environments, as well as in high or precarious places.

• Ability to transport heavy equipment to various job sites (frequently lifting/moving up to 50 pounds, regularly lifting/moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 100 pounds).

• Willingness to travel regionally and nationally on a regular basis.

• Availability to work overtime, including weekends as necessary.

• Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.

• Ensure that projects are completed safely and efficiently, following project schedules and budgets.

• Maintain survey equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise in the field.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief.

• Strong grasp of surveying concepts and practices.

• Proficient in operating survey equipment such as total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.

• Part 107 license is preferred but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with CAD software, particularly Carlson AutoCAD, is advantageous but not essential.

• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.

• Capable of working independently and as part of a team, with an emphasis on delivering high-quality work punctually and within budget.
