Survey Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Accountable for gathering data to ensure project completion.

• Identifying boundaries, markers, improvements, utilities, etc., while executing various types of projects including ALTA, boundary, construction staking, and topographic surveys.

• Review and process raw field data, carry out calculations, and download/file survey information.

• Conduct project research as necessary.

• Adhere to instructions and work orders provided by project managers.

• Engage in daily communication with your Field Project Manager to verify adherence to your field schedule and notify them if you are ahead or behind schedule.

• Physical work environment requirements include:

• Capability to safely traverse and navigate rugged terrain in remote locations.

• Willingness to regularly work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wet, and muddy environments, and in high or precarious locations.

• Capacity to transport heavy equipment to various job sites (regularly lifting/moving up to 25 pounds, frequently lifting/moving up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 100 pounds).

• Readiness to travel regionally and nationally on a frequent basis.

• Availability to work overtime, including weekends as necessary.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.

• Ensure that projects are completed safely and efficiently, conforming to project schedules and budgets.

• Maintain survey equipment and address issues that arise in the field.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief.

• Strong grasp of surveying concepts and practices.

• Proficient in operating survey equipment such as total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.

• Part 107 license is preferred but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with CAD software, particularly Carlson AutoCAD, is advantageous but not required.

• Outstanding communication and leadership abilities.

• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, emphasizing timely and high-quality work delivery within budget constraints.
