This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Efficiently and promptly schedule surgery appointments for patients.
• Deliver courteous customer service to both internal and external clients.
• Organize, coordinate, and reschedule surgical and post-operative appointments.
• Communicate essential messages to physicians, staff, and facilities.
• Send detailed information to patients via mail or email.
• Maintain and update physician surgery schedules, including hospital block times.
• Coordinate surgery dates and times, ensuring the surgery tracker is updated.
• Discuss and counsel patients regarding surgery information, guidelines, facilities, dates, and times.
• Arrange for surgical assistants or second surgeons, neuromonitoring, and DME as needed.
• Fax pre-operative tests and clearance orders to primary care and referring physicians.
• Guide patients in scheduling necessary appointments.
• Inform patients about potential calls from DME providers, hospitals, and the business office.
• Schedule pre-surgical conferences with physicians, nurses, or physician assistants.
• Engage in professional development, meetings, educational programs, clinic meetings, cross-training, and covering for coworkers.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Preferred two years of work experience in a medical office environment and/or scheduling program.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is necessary.
• Proficient computer skills are required.
• Understanding of medical office procedures, including surgical procedures and practices.
• Knowledge of the interconnections between surgery, laboratory, and radiology departments.
• Proficient in grammar, spelling, and punctuation for accurate patient information entry.
• Ability to operate a computer, photocopy machine, and fax machine.
• Maintain a pleasant and helpful telephone demeanor.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Capability to read, comprehend, and follow both oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and foster effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background check is mandatory.
