Support Specialist, Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver frontline technical assistance to Milsoft clients.

• Install, troubleshoot, resolve issues, and maintain GIS and staking products and services.

• Address technical support questions through remote diagnostics and troubleshooting.

• Guide customers on system configurations and settings that enhance software performance and user experience.

• Transform customer inquiries and requests into comprehensive tickets with reproduction steps for the Development team.

• Simplify operational and system processes into clear instructions and knowledge articles.

• Record all customer interactions in a support ticketing system.

• Adjust to new technologies and changes in software functionality through ongoing product release cycles.

• Uphold Milsoft’s values and principles concerning ethics, integrity, and corporate responsibility.

• Execute other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology (or equivalent experience/certification).

• Expertise in Esri ArcGIS Desktop/Pro is required.

• Experience with ArcGIS Online is an advantage.

• Understanding of coordinate systems and spatial file formats, such as Shapefiles, Geodatabases, and GeoJSON.

• Knowledge of MultiSpeak or CIM standards for utility data integration is preferred.

• Experience with Python (ArcPy) or SQL queries for data management.

• Familiarity with cloud-based spatial data or Enterprise Geodatabases (SDE) is a plus.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for customer interaction.

• Ability to provide support in a 24/7 environment, including after-hours on-call assistance.

• Willingness to travel as necessary.
