This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee the complete lifecycle of hardware products from manufacturers to distributors across various regions.
• Place and manage purchase orders with manufacturers and monitor them until delivery.
• Collaborate directly with manufacturers regarding lead times, production schedules, shipment logistics, and daily operational issues.
• Assist distributors with back-office functions: coordinating orders, providing delivery updates, and resolving issues.
• Manage order processing, inventory updates, and data within NetSuite.
• Address partial deliveries, make stock allocation decisions, and coordinate inventory across regions.
• Organize global logistics in collaboration with freight forwarders and logistics partners.
• Execute the RMA process from start to finish, including coordination, root-cause analysis, and reconciliation with manufacturers.
• Analyze forecast data and inventory levels to inform purchasing decisions regarding when and how much to order.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and supply chain documentation.
• Identify bottlenecks and continually enhance the supply chain as the company grows.
• Collaborate across the Hardware, Commercial, and Finance teams to ensure alignment.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, purchasing, or operations, with direct, hands-on involvement.
• Proven experience in coordinating with manufacturers — placing and managing purchase orders, and collaborating on lead times and production schedules. Experience with factories in China (or other Asian countries) is highly desirable.
• Cultural fluency when communicating with international manufacturing partners, especially in Asia — you understand professional norms and when directness or informality is appropriate.
• A pragmatic understanding of inventory management, stock allocation, and handling partial deliveries — you've tackled these challenges in real situations, not just theoretically.
• Experience in coordinating international shipments and logistics.
• Familiarity with an ERP system (NetSuite, SAP, Odoo, or similar) and confidence in placing POs and managing deliveries within it.
• A proven record of providing structure: documenting processes, creating SOPs, and enhancing workflows — ideally from a company that already had established supply chain practices that you can adapt for us.
• Ability to work independently with minimal structure and a high sense of ownership in a fast-paced environment.
• An analytical mindset — comfortable utilizing reporting and forecast data to inform decisions.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Five weeks (twenty-five days) of paid time off.
• Fourteen days of paid sick leave if your country/laws classify them as unpaid.
• Six weeks of paid and six weeks of unpaid parental leave available within the first year after birth. We will cover the missing days if your country/laws do not provide such compensation.
• A budget to equip your home workspace upon starting. After three years, you may retain this equipment for personal use.
• A monthly smart home budget to help you stay current with the latest smart home technologies.
• A 50% contribution towards your home internet connection fee for your workspace.
• If you are currently engaged in Home Assistant-related side projects, you may allocate work time to maintain them.
