This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Oversee incoming and source inspection processes for purchased castings, forgings, patterns, machined elements, and mechanical devices.
• Assess supplier quality documentation, inspection reports, quality plans, MTCs, and manufacturing records to ensure compliance.
• Analyze engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensional tolerances, surface finishes, material specifications, and inspection criteria.
• Perform and assist in supplier process evaluations to gauge manufacturing capability, process control, repeatability, and product consistency.
• Design, implement, and support supplier SOPs, inspection plans, process risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
• Detect supplier quality issues, investigate root causes, and assist in containment, corrective actions, and process enhancements.
• Lead supplier NCR management, including root cause analysis, CAPA, effectiveness verification, and closure activities.
• Organize and execute supplier audits for qualification, evaluation, performance enhancement, and problem resolution.
• Coordinate and oversee NDT/NDE activities, such as VT, MT, PT, UT, RT, PMI, and hardness testing.
• Manage third-party inspections, including scheduling, readiness, documentation review, and follow-up actions.
• Ensure adherence to ISO 9001:2015, API, ASME, ASTM, ISO, customer specifications, and internal protocols.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Project Management, and Quality teams.
• Relay inspection status, quality issues, progress on corrective actions, and risks affecting delivery timelines.
• Propel continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier capability, minimize defects, bolster process controls, and prevent recurrence.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supplier Quality, or Inspection.
• Preferably experienced in manufacturing, metal-mechanical, pumps, casting, forging, fabrication, or heavy-engineering sectors.
• Practical inspection experience with castings, forgings, patterns, machined components, fabricated parts, and similar mechanical items.
• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, dimensional specifications, GD&T, surface finish, material specifications, and inspection criteria.
• Experienced in reviewing MTCs, inspection reports, NDT reports, dimensional reports, and supplier quality documents.
• Understanding of API, ASME, ASTM, ISO, material standards, and ISO 9001:2015 QMS requirements.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Sections II, V, VIII, and IX.
• NDT Level II certification and hands-on experience with VT, MT, PT, UT, RT, PMI, and hardness testing are preferred.
• Familiarity with supplier audits, root cause analysis, CAPA, NCR management, and supplier corrective action follow-up.
• Willingness to travel 70% to supplier sites for inspections, audits, supplier development, and quality issue resolution.
• Experience in pump, pressure-containing equipment, or rotating equipment manufacturing.
• Acquainted with third-party inspection agencies and customer inspection expectations.
• Proficient in methodologies such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, 8D, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Capability Analysis.
• Ideally located in the Kolhapur and Sangli region.
