This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversees work and provides updates on progress.
• Ensures that the work of paralegals and support staff meets contractual and attorney standards and is submitted punctually.
• Identifies issues and conducts quality control checks.
• Capable of developing administrative and technical processes to accomplish tasks efficiently.
• Reports to the Project Supervisor or Project Manager; may also maintain significant interactions with the COR, Government Case Manager, trial attorneys, client agency personnel, and opposing counsel.
• Conducts complex legal and factual research.
• Creates and implements systems and procedures for tracking, controlling, and managing case files, exhibits, and other case-specific documents.
• Aids trial staff in coordinating with expert witnesses and litigation consultants.
• Facilitates access to relevant DOJ libraries and other legal research facilities.
• Collaborates with other Contractor support teams, including data processing support staff, to achieve project objectives.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust clearance before starting (candidates do not need to be cleared at the time of application).
• Authorized to work within the United States.
• Capable of working efficiently in a fully remote setting.
• Must possess a paralegal certificate; only the Contracting Officer can grant a waiver for this requirement.
• At least three years of experience as a litigation paralegal, including trial involvement.
• A minimum of one year’s experience with automated litigation support.
• Should have supervisory experience, demonstrating strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients and attorneys.
• Requires a solid understanding of federal and state court systems, legal research methodologies, and legal research resources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
• Must have practical experience with various computer applications, including word processing, databases (like document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging software.
• Ability to consistently produce high-quality work under significant pressure is critical.
