Supervisor, Coding Data Management – Education

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversees operational management for HIMS coding data quality monitoring and coder education initiatives.

• Facilitates the implementation and coordination of coder onboarding, ongoing education, and retraining programs.

• Acts as a member of the Coding Management team, providing leadership assistance.

• Offers daily supervision and oversight of coding data accuracy and coder education activities.

• Monitors coding accuracy, productivity, staffing levels, schedules, and workload distribution.

• Conducts or delegates record review tasks related to pre-bill edit resolution and coding audits.

• Utilizes reporting tools and database queries to execute audits and observe trends.

• Oversees billing edit work queues and coordinates correction efforts.

• Aids in coding and associated system analysis, implementation, testing, and data accuracy.

• Collaborates with Medical–Dental Staff, CDI Specialists, Patient Financial Services, and other departments to resolve operational coding, documentation, and reimbursement challenges.

• Organizes orientation activities for newly hired coders and coding contractors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate degree in HIM or a related healthcare field, required.

• Bachelor’s degree in HIM or a related healthcare field, preferred.

• One to two years of leadership experience, required.

• Successful completion of CCHS Leadership classes, required within 12 months of hire/promotion into this position.

• Five years of coding education experience in an acute care healthcare setting, required.

• Proven competence in all Inpatient and Outpatient general record types and 50% of all Inpatient and Outpatient specialty types, required.

• Experience in implementing and maintaining computer systems, preferred.

• Project Management experience, preferred.
