This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the planning, management, and execution of all facets of assigned projects.
• Oversee the management of materials and equipment while supporting personnel management.
• Ensure all documentation is complete and aligns with project goals to achieve timely and profitable project completion.
• Maintain effective communication between project managers, client personnel, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Relay key project information to owners, design teams, governing authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and others as necessary.
• Provide direction to subcontractor/vendor personnel based on contract documents.
• Keep accurate daily field reports.
• Create and modify weekly detailed look-ahead schedules in relation to the overall project schedule.
• Report any issues to the project management team for resolution and enforcement.
• Accurately document all job site conditions.
• Maintain general housekeeping and cleanliness at the project site.
• Schedule and participate in inspections and walkthroughs with clients, inspecting authorities, designers, etc.
• Champion all aspects of the company’s safety culture and promote awareness by demonstrating a commitment to an injury-free environment through personal actions and mentoring others.
• Investigate safety incidents and retrain staff as necessary.
• Manage subcontractors and organize overall job workflow.
• Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, Quality, and EEOC for small projects or major portions/all of larger projects, depending on specific assignments.
• Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
• Coordinate and manage the care, custody, and control of the project site.
• Lead various meetings, including daily and weekly trade meetings, and take and distribute meeting notes.
• Attend, manage, and participate in relevant progress and/or project OAC meetings.
• Create, manage, modify, and implement the project schedule as needed in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Adhere to the project filing and documentation organization system as required.
• Update drawings, logs, diaries, and inspection notebooks.
• Approve and/or document unit cost information for weekly reports, and complete daily reports, logs, and tracking reports.
• Assess progress on self-performed work and make necessary adjustments.
• Manage material and equipment requirements for the project.
• Assist in selecting formwork, tools, and equipment necessary for self-perform operations.
• Oversee the timecard approval process to ensure accurate reporting of hours and proper cost coding.
• Ensure quality compliance through specifications, setting quality standards, in-house QA/QC, and external resources.
• Support project closeouts by supervising pre-punch activities and coordinating efforts with the owner, architect, and governing authorities.
• Collaborate with field leadership to establish field staffing for the assigned project.
• Work with project management to identify schedules and costs related to project changes.
• Engage in the negotiation process with the owner and architect to achieve agreement on project changes.
• Participate with the project team in preparing and presenting for all project review meetings, including the monthly review process and other key project meetings.
• Take part in project buyout meetings with subcontractors and vendors.
• Understand and apply the terms and conditions of owner and subcontractor contracts applicable to the project.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (highly preferred).
• A minimum of 10 years of construction experience, including at least 5 years in a superintendent or similar role.
• Ability to schedule a project effectively.
• Experience with and ability to utilize the 3-phase inspection program.
• Proficient in written and oral communication with diplomacy and tact.
• Demonstrated knowledge of contract compliance in government construction.
• Proven success in effectively engaging with subcontractors.
• Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows.
• Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 requirements and experience in hazard identification and safety compliance.
• Ability to interpret critical path schedules and construction drawings.
• Capable of performing work accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
• Ability to conduct effective presentations.
• Knowledge of project processes and how each contributes to the successful completion of a project.
• Proficiency in scheduling software is desired (Primavera preferred, but Project is also acceptable).
• Intermediate knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work.
• Understanding of self-perform work and labor productivity.
• Ability to manage budgets, maximize profitability, and cultivate future work through relationship building.
• Knowledge of organizational structure and available resources.
• Preferred knowledge of layout skills.
• Preferred knowledge of crane flagging and rigging.
• Ability to comprehend document changes and their impact on the project schedule.
• Must be able to pass a federal background check.
• Must possess an instructor-signed OSHA 30-hour training card.
• Certified in First Aid/CPR/AED.
• Tribal Preference Exercised. Prairie Band, LLC is governed by Title 22: Employment Code of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. According to Title 22, this position is classified as a TIER 2 position, with preference given to individuals as required by Section 22-2-4(8).
