Substation Protection & Control Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Create and develop substation relay one-line and three-line diagrams

• Create and develop AC/DC schematics

• Create and develop layouts for substation panels

• Create and develop wiring diagrams and cable schedules for substations

• Create and develop SCADA and communication diagrams

• Create and develop point-to-point wiring diagrams

• Collaborate with physical, settings, and drafting teams to ensure high-quality deliverables

• Analyze and integrate vendor information into design outputs

• Adhere to client standards relevant to the tasks

• Execute and ensure compliance with company QA/QC processes for all design packages

• Continuously enhance job-related engineering, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's Degree or High School Diploma

• Experience in substation (transmission) design

• Over 3 years of detailed wiring design experience, including developing single lines, schematics, and relay panels

• More than 3 years of experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Inventor, and MicroStation

• Proficient understanding of AC/DC control diagrams to accurately execute point-to-point wiring tasks

• Capability to assist lead engineers with initial design specifications

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft products, particularly Excel and Word

• Familiarity with the practical application of industry standards such as NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI

• Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing technical plans, blueprints, and drawings
