• Ensure quality standards for designated suppliers, including the execution of quality plans.
• Identify and select suppliers through comprehensive qualification processes.
• Take ownership of supplier performance, driving enhancements through supplier scorecards.
• Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance and implement improvement strategies when necessary.
• Oversee activities and execute action plans to help the supplier quality team achieve departmental KPIs.
• Serve as the primary manager for a team of Supplier Quality Engineers and Supplier Quality Inspectors.
• Cultivate specialized knowledge and expertise in your job discipline or field.
• Lead the qualification process and address quality issues for the team.
• Manage the execution of the Planned Inspection Program and ensure timely reporting of tools and trackers.
• Act as the main point of contact for the assigned team and coordinate with the regional supplier quality manager, project quality, project managers, and sourcing.
• Lead medium to complex projects involving moderate risks and resource needs.
• Develop and oversee supplier quality for assigned equipment/products from the qualification phase through to final inspections, ensuring compliance with technical and quality standards prior to shipment.
• Conduct thorough supplier evaluations and onboarding processes, including quality and compliance audits/assessments to guarantee that only suitably qualified suppliers progress through the evaluation.
• Collaborate with the sourcing/commodity team to achieve business goals regarding the addition of new suppliers and provide input for technical tender analysis.
• Create Supplier Quality Documents for projects, such as the Quality Control Plan (QCP), Inspection Testing Plan (ITP), and Product Testing Procedures.
• Organize and conduct inspections at suppliers to ensure product quality compliance.
• Develop and implement a surveillance audit plan to ensure suppliers maintain effective process controls, stringent product acceptance standards, and robust quality systems.
• Manage SRG (Safety/Health/Environment Supplier Responsibility Guidelines) metrics for assigned suppliers and perform SRG audits in accordance with the regional audit plan (where applicable).
• Handle Supplier Deviation Requests (SDR), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for supplier-related nonconformities, and lead the resolution of complex, cross-functional quality issues for significant NCR/RCA cases.
• Review and approve supplier End of Manufacturing Reports and authorize shipment releases.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Metallurgy Engineering.
• Extensive experience or familiarity with the power, oil, and gas industries.
• Demonstrated ability to influence effectively, capable of conveying complex messages to others.
• Proven project management skills and accountability for the comprehensive implementation of quality control aligned with specifications and international codes & standards.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision; self-motivated with a track record of inspiring others to achieve results.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in the English language.
• Proven capability to analyze and resolve issues effectively.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice.
