This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Provide support for a pilot randomized controlled trial focusing on individuals suffering from chronic low back pain.
β’ Participate in Phase I diagnostic validation efforts and Phase II pilot randomized controlled trials.
β’ Aid in retrospective database analysis utilizing de-identified clinical records.
β’ Implement literature-based diagnostic criteria for nociplastic pain under guidance.
β’ Gather, input, refine, process, and systematize data efficiently.
β’ Assist in the recruitment of participants and coordination of study activities.
β’ Schedule and monitor study visits and intervention sessions.
β’ Track participant attendance and ensure completion of follow-up tasks.
β’ Administer questionnaires and functional outcome assessments for the study.
β’ Distribute, monitor, and organize data collected from ActiGraph wearable fitness devices.
β’ Manage transcription and de-identification processes for study materials.
β’ Support quality assurance efforts and maintain regulatory documentation.
β’ Attend weekly meetings with the research team.
β’ Collaborate effectively with patients, clinicians, researchers, and administrative personnel.
β’ Engage in specific clinical and assessment-related tasks under supervision.
β’ Currently a student at the University of Toronto - St. George Campus or Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) located in downtown Toronto.
β’ Enrolled in a program connected to medicine, health sciences, healthcare, or a professional health discipline such as occupational therapy, nursing, or pharmacy.
β’ Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
β’ Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
β’ Strong capabilities in decision-making and problem-solving.
β’ Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently.
β’ Highly driven to pursue a career in healthcare.
β’ Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
β’ Willingness and ability to work in person at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute - University Centre 2-3 days each week.
β’ Availability to commit approximately 10-15 hours per week throughout the contract duration.
β’ Experience with REDCap is advantageous.
β’ Previous involvement with clinical trials, randomized controlled trials, clinical research, or engaging with research participants is a plus.
β’ A Criminal Record Check may be necessary.
