This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.
• Plan, layout, position, align, and assemble fabricated components of structural metal products.
• Weld, tack, and put together metal parts such as modules, structural steel, pipe racks, and plates using electric arc-welding equipment.
• Operate at heights while secured.
• Construct and deconstruct temporary structures utilized during construction.
• Spot equipment and carry out rigging and signaling as necessary.
• Interpret isometric drawings and ascertain relevant specifications.
• Set up and maintain welding machines and associated tools.
• Inspect and safely use power tools related to welding activities.
• Weld in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Communicate effectively in a collaborative team setting.
• Execute work safely in accordance with company and client standards.
• Recognize hazardous or unsafe conditions and communicate them to others.
• Adapt to varying work and environmental conditions.
• Undertake additional tasks related to departmental or unit success.
• Function without supervisory responsibilities.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent, or a minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Structural Welder/Fitter will be considered.
• At least two (2) years of experience as a Structural Welder/Fitter.
• Capability to pass a structural welding test in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Understanding of industrial construction and the characteristics and functions of equipment related to the position.
• Must provide personal basic hand tools at the job site.
• A driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for the past three (3) years are preferred for eligibility under the vehicle insurance policy.
• Ability to work at heights while secured.
• Proficient in assembling and disassembling temporary construction structures.
• Competence in equipment spotting, rigging, and signaling.
• Ability to identify hazardous or unsafe conditions.
• Capability to adapt to changing work and environmental conditions.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Steel-toed boots are mandatory.
• Valid identification is required for TSA security checks when traveling to and from the site.
• Ability to meet required vision standards, including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Steel-toed boots are required on the job.
• A list of required tools will be provided by NANA Construction at the point of hire as the job necessitates.
