Structural Steel Detailer – Tekla Structures

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• The Structural Steel Detailer will contribute to the execution of commercial and industrial projects by creating precise, fabrication-ready drawings and 3D models utilizing Tekla Structures. This position is ideal for a detailer with a solid foundational background, capable of working from architectural and structural drawings, completing assigned detailing tasks, updating drawings based on redlines and markups, and further developing technical knowledge of NZ/AU codes, fabrication practices, and steel detailing standards.

• - Aid project execution by generating accurate 3D models and shop drawings using Tekla Structures, informed by markups and design input from senior team members.

• - Detail repetitive or standard steel components, such as base plates, bracing, cleats, stair treads, handrails, and other structural steel elements.

• - Operate from architectural and structural drawings to finalize assigned sections of detailing packages under supervision.

• - Collaborate with senior detailers to integrate feedback, redlines, RFIs, and revisions into updated models and drawings.

• - Assist with drawing revisions and version control, ensuring that current documentation is properly maintained and distributed.

• - Learn and apply NZ/AU steel detailing standards, fabrication methods, and construction codes with guidance.

• - Engage in internal team meetings and technical reviews to enhance technical knowledge and contribute to quality results.

• - Maintain drawing files, model records, and project documentation in accordance with project and company standards.

• - Promote workshop efficiency, buildability, and overall project delivery through precise and dependable detailing output.

• - Comply with company QHSE policies and procedures at all times.

• - Perform other role-related duties as they arise.

⛳️ Requirements

• - At least 3+ years of experience in structural steel detailing, preferably within the New Zealand or Australian market.

• - Proficient in Tekla Structures or comparable 3D steel detailing software, with a readiness to enhance technical skills.

• - Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings.

• - Understanding of basic steel fabrication and erection practices in NZ/AU construction settings.

• - Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as AS/NZS 1554.1 and AS/NZS 5131 is advantageous.

• - Experience detailing structural steel components like base plates, bracing, cleats, stair elements, handrails, frames, or similar fabricated steelwork.

• - Strong attention to detail and dedication to producing accurate, reliable, and fabrication-ready outputs.

• - Willingness to accept guidance, learn from feedback, and collaborate with senior detailers and project teams.

• - Effective communication skills, capable of asking clarifying questions, reporting progress, and responding to feedback professionally.

• - Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• - Organized, dependable, and able to maintain clear drawing files, revisions, and project documentation.
