This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.
• Conduct assessments of structural integrity for non-pressurized structural components, such as pipe racks, platforms, walkways, supports, buildings, foundations, and steel frames.
• Analyze corrosion-related material loss, deformation, vibration concerns, and conditions leading to structural overstress.
• Perform load assessments (including dead, live, thermal, wind, seismic, and equipment loads) on existing structures.
• Evaluate structural adequacy for revamping projects, equipment replacements, and structural tie-ins.
• Assist with API 579 Part 5/9 assessments as applicable to structural components (for example, local thin areas and crack-like flaws).
• Examine legacy structural drawings, as-built documentation, and field measurements to confirm structural capacity.
• Assess the capability of existing structures to handle new loads or altered operating conditions.
• Provide structural insights for revamp engineering packages, Management of Change (MOCs), and feasibility studies for tie-ins.
• Assist with temporary works, lifting studies, and construction-related structural evaluations.
• Interpret inspection data and link degradation mechanisms to structural performance outcomes.
• Draft structural assessment reports, engineering justifications, and suggestions for repair, reinforcement, or replacement.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Corrosion, Process, and Inspection teams to address data gaps and ensure cohesive efforts.
• Ensure adherence to Eurocodes, AISC, ASCE, API, and Client standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
• At least 5 years of proven experience as a Structural Integrity Engineer.
• Proficient in structural analysis software for conducting assessment-level calculations.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng / PE / EUR Ing) or equivalent certification.
• Familiarity with API 579 (Parts 5 & 9) is desirable.
• Training in structural assessment, Eurocodes, or API/ASME integrity standards is a plus.
• Strong grasp of structural analysis principles, load combinations, and code-compliant assessment methodologies.
• Expertise in evaluating non-pressurized structural elements, including steel structures, concrete structures, pipe racks, platforms, supports, and foundations.
• Capability to evaluate issues related to corrosion, material loss, deformation, vibration, and fatigue.
• Understanding of operational limitations, plant walkdowns, and brownfield engineering practices.
• Familiarity with integrity management systems and inspection workflows.
• Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
• Comprehensive health and wellness programs.
• Opportunities for professional development and training.
• Flexible work arrangements to promote work-life balance.
