Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the Field CTO within the Engineering division.

• Collaborate with enterprise clients throughout the entire customer journey, from pre-sales exploration and solution design to post-sales adoption, retention, growth, and long-term success.

• Dedicate 40–50% of your time to writing code, architecting solutions, debugging complex distributed systems, and creating production-ready integrations.

• Work alongside clients and internal teams to ensure successful technical implementations and desired business outcomes.

• Oversee the complete implementation of real-time data pipelines utilizing CDC, Kafka, and associated technologies.

• Design multi-cloud data solutions across AWS, GCP, and Azure platforms.

• Develop custom connectors, integrations, production-grade systems, APIs, and data pipelines using Java and Python.

• Create and enhance Kubernetes deployments and containerized data workloads to optimize for performance, cost efficiency, and reliability.

• Troubleshoot and resolve intricate issues spanning backend, infrastructure, data, and distributed system layers.

• Generate reusable libraries, frameworks, and solution accelerators in Java/Python.

• Conduct code reviews, architecture evaluations, and technical deep dives in collaboration with customer engineering teams.

• Act as the primary technical partner for customers and manage escalations.

• Design enterprise-scale solutions that prioritize performance, scalability, and reliability, achieving throughput of over 100GB/day.

• Gather customer insights to inform product requirements and influence roadmap priorities and feature development.

• Convert business requirements into technical specifications and contribute to best practices, documentation, and scalable solution frameworks.

• Engage in projects involving sub-second latency pipelines, fault-tolerant distributed systems, Kubernetes optimization, and real-time data solutions that facilitate digital transformation and AI enablement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in customer-facing technical positions.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver results throughout the entire customer lifecycle, from pre-sales to post-sales success.

• Senior or principal-level technical expertise in solution architecture and practical implementation.

• Mastery of Java and/or Python; proficiency in at least one language is essential.

• Extensive experience in developing distributed systems, APIs, and enterprise integrations.

• Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.

• In-depth knowledge of AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.

• Expertise in CDC technologies, Apache Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming, and event-driven architectures.

• Strong background with Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Delta Lake, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, distributed systems, AI/ML frameworks, and analytics platforms.

• Proven experience in optimizing system performance and reliability at scale.

• Ability to translate technical concepts into customer business value and vice versa.

• Skilled in presenting technical solutions to both engineering and executive stakeholders.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities in ambiguous, high-stakes environments.

• Capability to mentor customer engineering teams.

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
